On January 7th, 2005 Equinox was asked,
Could
you talk about commitment?
EQ: We believe that commitment has to do with honour. We
believe that commitment has to do with honouring thy word and that
giving thy word cavalierly is something that Terrans do quite
frequently. When they go to get a driver’s license at 16, they
are making a commitment to drive safely. Is that so? How
many actually do it?
Not very many.
EQ: We believe none. We believe that Terrans have become
very good at not understanding that word at all and making it very
simple to say, “Yes, I will do this.” Because what they are
really saying is, “As long as this is comfortable and fun and I am
getting pleasure, I will keep it.” But, keeping in mind that all
things are an illusion, then can thee not take that which thee are not
having fun with and create fun out of it to make the commitment easier,
or better yet, would it be better not to make commitments so
cavalierly? Because what happens when a commitment is broken is
what we heard a moment ago.
Pain.
EQ: Exactly. And guilt which creates karma. There are
certain commitments that were made by thy soul that the ego may fight
against because it is exactly the lesson that the ego needs.
So when you make a commitment, how do you know when the commitment
is done?
EQ: When the karma is done. When thee are…it would be up to
each person to decide, keeping in mind that the responsibility comes
with that as well, that if thee have broken a commitment that thy soul
made, thee will suffer consequences, because the soul is
unforgiving. Dost thou understand? But if thee have broken
a commitment that thee have made cavalierly, then thee will probably
experience pain and guilt. If thee break a commitment because
thee truly know that thee are done with the experience and that if thee
remain within the commitment, thee will do more damage than good, then
it is time to end it. Dost thou understand?
