Choosing Awareness or Ignorance -

On January 7th, 2005 Equinox was asked,

We have so much education available to us through studying , books, research, TV, radio and internet. Why do we have so many people who chose to remain ignorant of what’s going on around them and would rather follow what someone else says instead of finding out for themselves?

EQ: Because then they do not have any responsibility, do they? If thee hear something, and thee just accept it because everyone else does, then thee are not different; thee will be accepted, and thee have no responsibility for anything because everyone says it is so. Is this not so? But if thee then say, “But why is this so?” and, “I am going to look into this.” and, “Guess what? I don’t think this is so. could it possibly be this way?” then what happens? What happens when thee do this thing?

Other people will sometimes put them down for doing that.

EQ: Or become angry.

Right, they’re questioning what they said.

EQ: Exactly. Or, then once thee realize that thee have been being lied to and there is that which needs to be done - perhaps, lets use, for example, thy environment - then this means that thee might have to make a change in thy life. Is this not so?

Yes, that’s true.

EQ: And how many entities upon Terra want to make changes in their lives?

Not very many.

EQ: So, if thee remain ignorant, if thee believe what thee are told, if thee rely on others to make thy opinions for thee, then thee have a very simple life. Do thee not? Thee fit in; thee do not make waves, and thee have no responsibilities, and thee have a world that thee can bitch about.

I wonder though, is there actually a connection between education and self-awareness and the ability to question authority? I’ve hung around some mighty educated people in my life and some of them are pawns…

EQ: …also stupid…

…and they don’t have the ability to question.

EQ: We believe that what thee are calling educated and what we call educated are two different things.

So, can you explain how you would define education?

EQ: Education does not have anything to do with letters behind thy name. Education is as awareness of the need to ask questions and the ability to research it and come to thy own conclusions from the data that thee have researched. Whether that conclusion is that thee have no idea, or that conclusion is that it is as it should be, or that conclusion is that it is not, at least thee are garnering the details to make that and using thy own intellect to decide and thus taking the responsibility. Dost thou understand? This, to us, is education. Question, ask, then explore.

At what point do we stop questioning? Say you want to learn about a certain issue so you gather multiple sources to understand that, but one should really question one’s sources.

EQ: Yes, of course.

And then question the sources of the sources. You understand, it’s a continual process.

EQ: Yes. And when should thee stop? When thy inner self resonates with what thee have discovered. But with the acceptance that that can change. Dost thou understand?

The point at which the resonance happens can change?

EQ: No, that thee can resonate with a knowledge, but as years go on new facts can come in and the resonance can shift. Dost thou understand? It does not mean that thy original knowledge was incorrect, just not complete.

Evolving.

EQ: Yes. Everything is change upon Terra. Everything. Is there anything on Terra that does not change?

No.

EQ: Some things change very slowly. Some things change very rapidly, but change is inevitable upon Terra.

Are there certain truths that never change?

EQ: We believe the only truths at this point are that if thee are here, thee were born and at some point thy body will die. And these are all we have found now, but this does not mean those can not change with more data. Some day thee will not be born. Thee will be manufactured. Some day, perhaps, the physical body will not have to die. But on Terra, this is an absolute right now. Is it not?

But will there always be taxes?

EQ: Until the time that thy beingness takes full responsibility for thyself, yes. Because when thee have governments, and governments are because the people do not take full responsibility, some one has to pay these entities. Is this not so? There will always be taxes until thee take responsibility. And it’s not just thee. It would have to be all of thee upon Terra. Is this not so?

Do you ever see that time happening?

EQ: We work toward that time happening. This is why we are here. We work for the time of enlightenment upon Terra, the time when all beings understand that what is good for one is good for all, and what is horror for one is horror for all, that thee are totally linked. And when we say thee we mean the planet, the animals, the plants and every other human, everything upon Terra. We work toward that end, for when that happens, then all beings will take responsibility. Is this not so?
