On February 4th, 2005 Equinox was asked,
What do we
need to know right now?
EQ: We believe that the most important thing that each and every
one of thee need to know now and to practice is that there are many
amongst you, thy neighbors, thy friends of thy neighbors, thy strangers
on the street that are as needy as entities that have been destroyed in
disaster. But because those at a distance have no faces and very
little is needed of thee, it is easier to help and send love and send
monies and do good works to those in a distance. We want to make
thee aware that there are many around thee that need as much, if not
more, help, and that thee can help them in very real ways every
day. We are asking thee to open thy eyes. Look around thy
community and ask, “Where am I most needed?” Look around thy
neighborhood and ask, “What might I do for my neighbors?” Look at
the small children and see if thee can make a difference in someone’s
life. It is very easy to do this in disasters and very easy to
forget that most entities on Terra have disasters that go unseen.
We ask thee to become a community of love. And this is what thee
need to know.
We do have a lot of things going on in our own neighborhoods and our
towns and villages that are not being addressed.
EQ: This is so. This is what we are saying. It is as
though entities are much more comfortable looking out for beings that
thee can not see and know nothing about and being told who to give to
than to reach out a hand right next door.
It’s easier to write a check than to ask you neighbor what they need.
EQ: Yes. Or to pay attention that, perhaps, there is a
neighbor that thee have not seen for a few days, and, perhaps, she is
sick, or he is sick and has no one to take care of them. And how
hard would it be to address this fact - or an elderly person who is
lonely, or a child who needs love? Very simple things - very hard
to do.
Volunteer.
EQ: No.
No?
EQ: No. Volunteer means that thee find an organization or
something already put together. We are talking in thy everyday
life open thy eyes, and in opening thy eyes, open thy heart.
Ask them if they need a hand and know that you have two that you
could lend them.
EQ: Or don’t even ask - just give. How many entities here,
when someone new moves into their area, goes over and says hello and
brings a small gift? Very few do this thing. Very few even
know the people who live next door. But these are ones that thee
can truly benefit, and can, perhaps, be benefited by.
