On March 4th, 2005 Equinox was asked,

Given the information we have related to responsibility and the matrix, how does coincidence fit into all of this?

EQ:  None of it does, but we have to speak in terms that are understood.  It creates limits for us.  It creates situations where it looks as though we are contradictory when we are not.  Essentially, the only thing that we want to get clear tonight is that when we are speaking that thee create thy reality, when we say this we are not talking thee who is the ego, we are talking thee that is the soul.  If the soul wants thee to have the experience of much confusion, it will create an ego that thrives on confusion.  Dost thou understand?

So the ego doesn’t have any control over it?

EQ:  Oh, the ego has some control, yes.  But ultimately, as we have said before, the ego is a role that the soul has written.  If thee write a play, does the character in the play have much choice?  No.  But the actor who plays that role can improvise.  Is this not so?  It is the exact same thing.  The soul writes the character, sometimes the ego improvises.  It isn’t always a good thing, but sometimes it makes the soul say, “Hmm, I like the way that was written.  Ok, go that way.  Proceed.  Lets see where that goes.”

So does that mean that it is impossible to release the ego in physical life?  It’s essential?

EQ:  Yes, it is essential.  Absolutely.  Absolutely.  Otherwise thee would just be a blob that didn’t talk, didn’t move, did nothing.

So people who are evolved more than others, they have a better grip on ego?

EQ:  They have a better grip on reality, that they have control of reality, that nothing is real.  Dost thou understand?  That’s the difference.  They can step outside of the matrix, outside of the dream.

There are some here that have not heard of that.  Can you talk just a moment about stepping outside of reality?

EQ:  Essentially what we are saying is that - if thee can imagine that the world is a dream that thee are dreaming and occasionally thee are a lucid dreamer and thee say, “I don’t know that I like this this way so I am going to change it.”  But everything in this life thee are living is but a dream that can be changed once thee acknowledge that thee are dreaming.  Just like the movie The Matrix, once thee take control of the dream, then thee have control of thy life.  But if thee choose to not take responsibility and allow that the dream is running thy life and those beings in thy dream are running thy life instead of thee are, then thee will just be a product of thy dreaming, a helpless being that everything happens to.   Did we explain?
